Committee participation is a great way to get involved with the association and the local community. If you would like to be nominated for Rookie, Realtor, or Affiliate of the Year, committee participation is required.

This committee is made up of Affiliates.  Their activities include: finding ways to assist the REALTORS® & promoting their affiliate businesses. 

This committee prepares the annual budget and makes financial recommendations to the Board of Directors.  Previous bookkeeping and management experience are recommended.  

Responsible for annual review of the Association’s Bylaws and recommends any revisions to the Board of Directors.  

This committee develops and implements educational opportunities for the general membership. 

This committee recommends, and coordinates building maintenance and establishes the priority of repairs. 

This committee reviews and participates in local, state, and national political issues related to land use and private property rights, plans candidate forums, interacts with county and city officials and attends local community and government meetings as needed. Committee members must commit to attending monthly meetings at the association office and Humboldt County local government meetings. Each committee member can expect to donate at least 4 hours of their time per month while serving on this committee. 

Contributing to the RAF fund as part of your annual Realtor dues is also HIGHLY recommended as a condition of committee participation.

Participation on this committee is recommended/required for future leadership positions within the association.



This committee reviews disciplinary complaints on an as needed basis and decides if they should be forwarded for a hearing.  Committee members participate on three-year terms. Training is required every two years. 

This committee covers all areas of membership services, public relations, special events such as fund-raisers, general membership meetings, and the annual Installation Dinner. 

This committee works to maintain and improve the MLS to benefit all MLS members by reviewing the MLS system and recommending changes and new equipment when necessary.  This committee works to keep the MLS Rules & Regulations current to the CAR Model Rules, and they recommend approval of new MLS Participants. Each committee member must commit to attending monthly meetings.

Participation on this committee is recommended/required for future leadership positions within the association.

This committee recommends members as nominees for the LCRC Trustees, for the Board of Directors, and State Directors.  Meetings - approximately twice a year.

This is a committee made up of members versed in the Code of Ethics and the rules for arbitration.  Members are asked to participate in hearing tribunals on an as needed basis; it is recommended that participants serve on the Grievance Committee prior to this committee.  Committee members participate on three-year terms. Training is required every two years.

This committee assists HAR members during hardships brought on by unforeseen burdens. Responsible for distribution from the Angel Program fund.

This committee organizes recreational events for the membership and their families. 

Works on the HAR annual Golf Tournament, Dinner & Auction. Participating on this committee requires active involvement and assigned tasks to take place outside of the regular meetings. Committee members must commit to attending monthly meetings from March - September. Extra meetings may be added in August and September as the event draws closer.

Each year the committee evaluates a few different kinds of scholarships. The committee offers $250 Scholarships to newly licensed Realtors and Appraisers. The committee also offers scholarships to high school and college aged students who have committed to pursue an education in a real estate related profession.

The HAR Cares for Youth committee’s mission is to engage with and support youth in our community by conducting outreach activities and fundraising to provide health, safety, and educational resources. Our goal is to serve individuals and supportive organizations in Humboldt County through knowledge, compassion, and empowerment to assist youth in reaching their full potential. Support can include: food drives, shoe drives, clothing drives, sports or art scholarships, welcome home boxes for families with children who are buying their first home.

This is a sub committee of our Government Relations Committee (GRC) that is dedicated to reviewing and taking action on the current state of the California property insurance market.

This committee is dedicating to increasing member participation in the voluntary Realtor Action Fund contributions. Supporting the Realtor Action Fund is not a political decision, it is a business decision. The more our association puts into the fund, the more money we get out of it to effect governmental change on a local scale.
